Days In Late August Decrypted
My blog finally has a name… And I’ll briefly explain it, and delve more into the meaning as time goes on. It actually comes from a passage in a book I recently read by William Faulkner titled “The Sound and The Fury”.
“Some days in late August at home are like this, the air thin and eager like this, with something in it sad and nostalgic and familiar…”
William Faulkner summed up the days in late August perfectly, and in a way, these days have made a significant impact on my life and on the voice that I have today. My blog is a reflection of all these things – life being eager with possibilities, the sadness of leaving things behind but basking in the familiarity of family and of life at home. My journey is chronicled here with my defining moments of the Days In Late August that I have carried with me throughout my life.
And of course, this is all very appropriate, because my birthday is August 22nd. And so it goes.

I havent read this book – I will have to as I have been experiencing this very thing – something sad, nostalgic, and very familiar – so true!! spring is beautiful and joyfilled with expectations of bounty and fall perhaps even more beautiful but yet the sadness of the end of things expected and sometimes not achieved – yes but with God there is always another spring – one that one day will not end in winter!
happy birthday screensaver!!!!!!
